What Do People Believe: A Look at World Religions (What is Religion?)

Understanding may be the key to coexistence; therefore, it’s important to understand how other peoples understand God and their relationship with the divine. Beginning on January 8, at 6:30 p.m., we’re starting a new study entitled What They Believe. For seven weeks, we’re focused on some of the major world religions. For each, we’ll consider its view of God, themselves, the world, and the moral principles that guide their living. We’ll follow the schedule below:

  • Session 1 - What is Religion?
  • Session 2 - What Do Christians Believe?
  • Session 3 - What Do Jews Believe?
  • Session 4 - What Do Muslims Believe?
  • Session 5 - What Do Hindus Believe?
  • Session 6 - What Do Buddhists Believe?
  • Session 7 - What Do Adherents of Other Eastern Religions Believe?

In our first session, we discussed the nature of religion. The discussion and slides used during the discussion are below.
