It was sunshine all day long on Sunday, perfect weather for Franklin audiences to crown the winner of the Taste of Talent vocal competition's 15th season.
After two energetic performances in the final round Sunday afternoon first-time contestant Aidan Quinn, of Sligo, received the audience vote to become the winner of the competition.
Quinn treated the crowd of hundreds of people to renditions of "Can't Take My Eyes Off You," by Frankie Valli, and "Never Enough," from the musical "The Greatest Showman."
During his rendition of Valli's classic Quinn carne down off the stage and pulled some dance moves, encouraging the crowd to dance as well if they wanted.
"I love performing," Quinn told the newspaper after he was dubbed winner of the competition. "It fills me with so much joy, knowing people are as happy as I am - not even when I'm singing, but when they hear music. It's an amazing feeling, and nothing can take that away."
The shared love of music was one of Quinn's favorite parts about meeting his fellow contestants this summer, he added.
"Seeing them as excited about music as I am...it makes you feel right at home, it really does," he said. "It was a difficult year. but I had so much fun."
